“Gov. Martin O’Malley speaks at 50th anniversary of the March on Washington.”

From Governor Martin O’Malley

I’m not trying to offend or anything but Governor O’Malley’s speech sounded more like a campaign spot, for someone who is I don’t know, considering running for a certain political office in 2016. Rather than speaking about I Have a Dream, the March on Washington and what this movement is about. The Governor seemed more interested in political goals that he still has and wants to accomplish.

The 50th anniversary of one of the most, if not most important, at least civil political event in American history, where you are talking about a group of Americans who were literally there to make the case for their constitutional rights, is not the opportunity to try to make your case for running for President in 2016.

The 50’s anniversary is an opportunity for you to talk about an event and how important it is to you personally, as well as argue why it’s so important to in American history. This is not a State of the State where you say now is the time for this, that, the other thing, and something else, and now is the time to do all those things.

About Erik Schneider

I use the American Liberal photo as the cover photo for this blog, because that’s exactly what I am. And no, not in the stereotypical, sort of pop culture sense of what an American Liberal is supposed to be. But someone who represents what American liberalism, as well as European liberalism, and perhaps the liberalism of the rest of the world outside of the United States. Liberals are people who believe in defense of liberal democracy, as well as the preservation of liberal democracy. And of course we also believe in liberal democracy with all the individual rights, and other liberal values that come from liberal democracy, the liberal democratic form of government, like equal opportunity, equal rights, equal justice, property rights, individual freedom and freedom of choice for everybody, as well as limited but responsible government, and fiscal responsibility
